Stock Fencing (High-Tensile)

High-tensile stock fencing with optional barbed strands for farms and large holdings.

High-tensile stock fencing with barbed strands running across Dorset pasture

High-tensile stock wire on treated softwood or oak posts, for keeping livestock secure across fields and large holdings. Pig, sheep, cattle and combination meshes chosen by what you are keeping in and out, with one or two barbed strands on top where needed. Strained and stapled to hold tension over long runs, and installed with care on sensitive ground.

What livestock is stock fencing suitable for?

Sheep, cattle, pigs and mixed stock. The mesh size and barbed strands are chosen by the animals you are keeping in and what you need to keep out.

How long does stock fencing last?

With good straining posts and quality wire, expect 15 to 20 years. Oak or robinia straining posts extend that considerably.

Do you add barbed wire?

We can add one or two strands of barbed wire on top where cattle or security require it, or leave it plain for horse-grazed land.

Will the work damage my ground?

We work by hand on sensitive or established ground and use low-impact methods where the scale calls for it, so the fence goes in without chewing up the field.

How long a run can you fence?

From a single field to hundreds of metres at a time. We size the crew and the straining to the length and the terrain.
